New! Nimbuzz 3.0 for Nokia Symbian phones

I know you all have been waiting for this  . Well, it’s finally here: the new Nimbuzz 3.0 for Nokia Symbian and Symbian^3 devices is ready to download.
The new version was specially optimized for Nokia’s N8, E7, C6 and C7 which run on Symbian^3.
Here are the useful new features you will enjoy in this version:

• Customizable tabs: select which tabs you want to see and in what order.
• NimbuzzOut call rates are displayed in real time below the number before placing the call.
• Recent calls tab: see all your received, missed and outgoing calls.
• 2 new chat styles: with avatars and without.
• 3 options to view the Contact List.
• Sort contacts by status.
• My info tab: gives you quick access to your profile, NimbuzzOut credits, accounts,  suggested friends and friend invites.
• Facebook Connect: removes the 400 contacts limit and connectivity issues.

And now that you have the overview of the new features let’s find our more details  and screenshots about each.

The new version comes also with neat User Interface improvements. We have added 2 new tabs, one to see your call history which includes Nimbuzz to Nimbuzz calls but also NimbuzzOut calls.The other new tab is the My info and this one gives you an overview of the most important functions of your account.

Besides all this we have a cool new way of seeing your tabs, just press the back button and Voilà!:

Instead of having all the tabs on top of the screen you have access to a customizable list of tabs that you can sort as you want or hide the less important tabs.
Another feature we added is to  sort contact list by status. This is the default setting and if you choose to use it then you will see the Available contacts, then the Away ones and at the end the Busy contacts.
If you want to share pictures with your friends via Nimbuzz, with the new version you can also see a preview of the pictures in the chat screen .

How will Facebook Connect influence your experience?

• Eliminates disconnect errors
• Removes the 400 contacts limit
• View the status message of your Facebook friends

What you need to remember?
Once you have installed the new update please go to Settings->Accounts->Reconnect to Facebook to see all your friends online!
After typing in your Facebook username and password, you need to allow Nimbuzz to access to the following Facebook permissions.

• Access my basic and profile information – to sign you in and display your Facebook profile picture.
• Access my data anytime – so you only need to input your username and password once.
• Access Facebook Chat – so you can start chatting with your Facebook friends.
• Post on my Wall – is an opt-in option you can confirm later. We won’t spam your friends.

On top of all the features we added we worked hard to fix all the annoying little bugs you reported. In total killed over 300 bugs and issues, among which also the  “-20Error”.

New Nimbuzz 1.2 for PC

It’s been a while since our last PC update, but the wait is over. The new Nimbuzz 1.2 for PC update is here . Last time we brought you 13 new languages and phonebook integration.

This time we added the following [Download new Nimbuzz PC]:

• Chat History – remember when and what have you discussed with your friends
• Drag & drop file sharing – simpler and faster file sharing
• Works behind proxied connections – so you can connect via your work network, school or other protected network
• See if you Nimbuzz friends are using push notification

Let’s go into these features a bit after the jump.
Chat history means that all your chats will be saved on your computer. This will make it easier for you to remember what you have discussed and when. Don’t want it? Simply disable it by clicking on the “clock” icon in the corner of your chat window and deselect “Keep chat history”.  You can also do that by going to: Tools-> Options-> Messages-> Deselect “Save messages”.
You can even choose how many chat lines you want to see from a previous discussion when you open a chat window after you signed out and signed back in again. Opt for None, 10, 25, 50, 100 or 200 lines, up to you. If you want to see more simply click on “Show more messages” from the top of the chat window.

Next up is Drag and Drop file sharing. This makes it easy to share photos, music or any other files by simply dragging them into your chat window.
We know that some of you would like to use Nimbuzz at work or at school where the network is behind a proxy, meaning you weren’t able to connect … Until now! Yes, the new Nimbuzz 1.2 fixes that issue and now you can enjoy Nimbuzz even on proxied networks.
See if your Nimbuzz friends are using push notification. Those of your contacts who are using Nimbuzz on their iPhone will show up in your contact list with a small grayed out mobile phone icons next to their name. This means they don’t have Nimbuzz open, but will receive a Push Notification on their home screen, when you are trying to interact with them.

Nimbuzz version 2.4 for Symbian

Good news for all the Symbian users out there: we have a new Nimbuzz update ready to download!
As always we have worked hard and developed some great new features that will make your life so much easier. Here is what’s new:

• Online presence to your phonebook – see which of your phonebook contacts are online with Nimbuzz
• Free SMS invites – Invite all your friends for free to Nimbuzz via SMS !
• Faster and more responsive kinetic scrolling – for touch screen devices
• More options for Twitter refresh frequency
  
• Control Nimbuzz connectivity while in roaming

Now let’s take a closer look and learn a little bit more about them.
Online presence to your phonebook detects which of your phonebook contacts also have a Nimbuzz account and gives you the option to add them as Nimbuzz friends. Why is this awesome? Because:

1. it allows you to discover friends and call them for free (also chat and share files)
2. it’s the first step to a smarter and more intuitive phonebook – you see which of your phonebook contacts are online

Free SMS invites. Do you want more of your friends to join Nimbuzz? Now you can invite them for free via SMS, just go to the phonebook tab->select one of your contacts-> Invite-> Send Free SMS invites and it’s done.  Simple right !
Twitter refresh frequency just got better. Now you can set it to 3, 5, 10, 15, 30, 45 minutes or set it on manual, to always get up to date info. Default is set to 15 minutes – for a balanced battery life .
Controlling Nimbuzz connectivity while roaming let’s you choose whether you want to connect on Nimbuzz while using data roaming. By default we set it to Off  to prevent crazy data charges and save you money.To enable it simply follow these steps: Options->Settings->Connection->Data roaming and choose On. However, if this is off you can still connect via Wi-Fi if available .
On top all these improvements we have also fixed minor bugs and various performance improvements so you can enjoy a better overall experience.
The new Nimbuzz 2.4 is available  for Symbian mobiles like  Nokia 5800, N97,  E71, E51 and many many (many) more ! Download Nimbuzz now!
